Hybrid Bicycle vs. Mountain Bike
Designers have built the hybrid bicycle with the mountain bike's handlebars and triple crank in order to provide it's users with a much more ergonomically correct pedalling position. It is difficult to mistake a hybrid for a mountain bike however as the hybrid comes with a sturdier frame that can take more load and absorb higher impact force.
Hybrid Bicycle vs. Road Bike
The wheel design of the hybrid was extracted from the typical road bike because the wide rims and large circumference of the tyres provided excellent speed that does not compromise on the safety of the wheels. Like road bikes, hybrids also have overall lighter components to help improve the speed of the vehicle, including installing lightweight rims to the bike.
Who Needs a Hybrid Bicycle?
As the hybrid bicycle is made up of many elements from many other bicycles, this means that it also comes in all kinds of varying function, quality and design. Bikers who live in town areas that do not require extreme mountain biking or docile road biking would do well to get a hybrid that reasonably meets both situations right in the middle. If you are intending to use your hybrid on a daily basis, it would be a good idea to equip it with useful accessories such as lights for night time riding, racks to bring items along as well as a proper lock to deter bike theft.
